The impact of rent control in Paris: Unraveling the consequences

Since July 1, 2019, the City of Paris has rolled out a comprehensive rent control system affecting properties rented as a primary residence.
Breaking down the city into around a hundred zones, each area is assigned a maximum rent limit, expressed in €/sqm.
The regulations leave room for owners to add a supplementary charge for exceptional features like terraces or outstanding views.

Interestingly, owners working with EIFFEL HOUSING find themselves largely outside the scope of these regulations, as 90% of the rentals managed by the agency fall under Civil Code leases, offering greater freedom in determining rents.
